Hi friends. I just got an email about one of our favorite games being on sale and I wanted to share it with you. I do not get any benefit from sharing this...I just know that some of you like to use herbals and home remedies, or that you are into Nature Studies, and this game goes right along with those ideas.
The game is called Wildcraft!, and it is sort of like "Chutes and Ladders" meets "Candyland" meets baseball trading cards You can see a picture of it up above.
The board is beautifully illustrated, as are the collecting cards. Basically, you are asked by your "grandmother" to go herb collecting (wildcrafting) and you have until sunset to accomplish getting up the mountain and back down again. Along the way, you collect different herb cards and contract different ailments (like a bee sting, poison ivy, and sunburn). Different herbs help cure different ailments and if you have the correct cards, you can "cure" the problem.
One of the things my kids loved best about this game is that you can choose to help a friend by trading cards. Somtimes you get lucky and can cross a path to get farther along; other times you slide down the stream back to the beginning. It's a lot of fun to play, and your children learn to identify the herbs and their uses as they play.
The company that produces this game is offering it for almost 50% off only until Thursday night at midnight, so don't wait to buy your copy.
